Easy Halloween Snacks
Halloween happens once a year and this is the only time that you can get away with a few snacks that may sound gross but are great to fill anyone’s stomach. Here are a few examples.
1. Halloween is not the same without the pumpkin. If you carved one, you can use the contents to make Pumpkin Pie. Aside from the pumpkin, you will also need sugar, cinnamon, ground cloves, ground allspice, ground ginger, slat, eggs and evaporated milk.
Cook the contents of the pumpkin pie and then let it cool. Then get the rest of the ingredients and mix this all together before putting this into the pie bowl as this will form the pie’s crust. After heating this in the oven, it will harden. Now pour in the pumpkin filling and cover it up with the remainder of the crust on top and leave put into the oven for 45 minutes. When it’s finished, cool the pie in a rack and refrigerate.
2. Delight your guests with a Bat Sandwich. You will need some sharp cheddar cheese, soft chive and onion flavored cream cheese, drained diced pimiento, chopped toasted pecans and bread slices. After you mix the ingredients mentioned, put the spread onto one side of the bread and then put another one on top. Cut this to shape like a bat and then serve.
3. Something light you can also serve is Goblin’s Taco Chicken salad. You will need skinless chicken breasts, tomato based salsa, salad greens, cheddar cheese, ranch dressing, green olives and sour cream.
Cut the chicken breasts into small strips. When you are finished, cook this with salsa at medium high for ten minutes until the chicken is cooked. Mix this with greens and cheese in a large bowl then add any remaining salsa together with the dressing. You can also put in tortilla chips and sour cream which helps make it crunchy.
4. Next is Brain Cell Delight. For this, you will need some jello, cottage cheese and blueberry soup. One you mix the jello with water, put this in a bowl and then let if chill in the refrigerator. Mix blueberry syrup with cottage cheese until it is well blended. To give it a graying color, add some food coloring. Now take out the jello, cut a slice so you can put this on the place then add the blended mixture.
5. Ever eaten a hotdog that was also a pizza? Well you can when you make the Halloween Mummy Dog. For this snack, you will need some pizza dough rolls, mozzarella cheese, non-stick spray, pizza sauce, assorted vegetables and hotdogs.
6. One game that people get to play during Halloween is apple bobbing. Instead of playing with food, you can enjoy it by making Apples on Stick. After you rinse the apples and pat it dry, you remove the apple stem and insert a popsicle stick. Roll this in peanut butter then raisins, dried cranberries and shredded coconut then serve.
Guests who come over will enjoy the different Halloween snacks you prepared. What is even better is that these are all easy to make so the kitchen will not be that messy. So people will know what these snacks are, don’t forget to write the names of each one on a small card so if they really like it, you can give them the recipe.
Halloween Party Food: 3 Great Halloween recipes
Halloween is a holiday where the focus is on having a good time, and even if you’re too old to go hunting through your neighborhood for treats, you can still enjoy some great Halloween recipes at home to get in the spirit of the holiday. With just a little work, you can make some great and tasty Halloween recipes that will allow you to enjoy the holiday, whether it’s entertaining guests at a costume party or just a night of scary movies with a friend. Let’s take a look at the recipes now:
Easy Caramel Apples
Even if you’re not up to Halloween recipes that require you to make your own caramel, you can still make some great caramel apples in your kitchen. Grease some wax paper before you start, then place 40 small caramel cubes in a small saucepan with one tablespoon of water. Melt this mixture using low heat until the mixture is smooth.
Remove the stems from five caramel apples and stick a wooden stick through the center of each apple. Dip each apple in the caramel mixture and coat thoroughly before placing on the wax paper. Let set in the fridge, return the treat to room temperature before eating, and enjoy!
Roasted Pumpkin Seeds
The next of our Halloween recipes is particularly good if you’ve got kids in the house, since they’ll be decorating a jack-o-lantern. When decorating time comes, rather than throw away the seeds, remove them from the rest of the pumpkin innards, but don’t wash them. Place these seeds in a single layer on a cookie sheet, add salt to taste, and bake in your oven at 250 degrees Fahrenheit, stirring occasionally. Within 15 to 30 minutes, the seeds should be a light golden color and will make a tasty Halloween snack!
Scary Popcorn
Snacks like candy corn are common around Halloween, but the next of our Halloween recipes is a way to make regular popcorn appropriate for your Halloween party. This one is a snap: simply add some red food coloring when you melt the butter for your popcorn, and the popcorn should soak up that color and look as if it’s bloody when you add the butter. For best results, try to find powder or paste food coloring instead of the liquid sort; the colors will be more vibrant.
As you can see, having some great recipes for Halloween can be a snap with just a few little tricks in the kitchen.
A Family-Centered Halloween
A Family-Centered Halloween
In just a few short weeks, the spooky fall holiday will be knocking at the door in the form of childhood trick-or-treaters. Candy, costumes, scary movies, ghoulish decorations and haunted parties usually typify Halloween. These parts of Halloween can all make for a fun holiday, but the most important thing is to include and bond with the members of your family. There are a few simple tricks to transforming October 31, 2009, into a memorable day your family will fondly remember. By creating unique costumes for each member of your family, having a special haunted meal, and going trick-or-treating as a family, you will be sure to form lasting memories with one another and make this year’s Halloween a memorable child and adult favorite.
On October 31, trick-or-treaters will flood the streets. Kids will be everywhere, probably with half of them in the exact same costume—girls in their princess attire and boys dressed as super heroes. Break out of the norm! Create a family-centered costume theme. Have everyone in your family dress alike; be a team of professional league bowlers in similar button up shirts with names embroidered, or a basketball team with matching jerseys. If you are a family on a budget, have everyone wear their pajamas and go as a sleepy family. Other inexpensive ideas include wearing different, solid, bright-colored clothing, with each member representing a different part of the rainbow. Another idea is for everyone to wrap each other in toilet paper and go as a family of mummies; the same concept applies for a family of ghosts if everyone wore a sheet with holes for the eyes and mouth. Girls could use permanent markers to add make-up to their ghosts in the form of eyelashes and lipstick. Add a little flare by trying something creative the whole family can participate in.
Eat a festive meal together. I’ll never forget when I ate fingers for the first time—a Halloween tradition in my family. My mom always was the creative type when it came time for holiday meals. I remember one Halloween in particular; my mother went all out. She used bread dough to form skinny fingers and placed slivered almonds dipped in red food coloring at the tips—they looked just like an old lady’s red nails and fingers. Then she used the same dough to form a fat spider with eight legs and a head. When it came out of the oven she made a hole on the top of the spider and filled it with soup. We were able to each take soup out of the spider’s back and eat it with a spider leg. All kinds of creative dinner and entertaining appetizer ideas are available on the Internet and in holiday cookbooks and magazines. Make a creative dinner or spooky dessert your family will just die for!
When it comes time to go trick-or-treating, go as a family. Sometimes it is fun to allow kids to go with their friends, but why not do something a little different this year and build the bonds within your family? Take lots of pictures, then come home and watch a family movie together while kids sort through their candy. Some favorite movies my family watched at Halloween time include Hocus Pocus and the Disney Halloweentown films.
The importance of family togetherness has been incredibly undervalued over the last couple decades. Make this holiday season, starting with Halloween, more family centered. Actually eat together, wear matching clothing and enjoy a family-feature-film. These are the types of activities that will serve to strengthen familial bonds and create an opportunity for memories to form and love to increase.

Hosting a house party?
Question by justxcurious: Hosting a house party?
Hey
Okay so my mom is going out of town for two days, I’m thinking of having a halloween party (yeah i know not for a while but i gotta make sure it goes off w/o a hitch)
few things
1. how much do i tell her? im having a couple of friends over to watch a movie cuz im lonely, lol. she’ll prolly call to check in. also, my step dad (who wont care, but might tell her) might be hanging out in the basement. should i try and convince him to join her for a couple of days away? or just tell him?
2. theme, invites, all this stuff. it’ll be around halloween. i’ll prolly say costumes are optional. what are some good food ideas? im thinking the regulars, loads of pizza, junk and pop. what are some decorating ideas?
3. tips for a house party? obv ive had them, but not this big and not secretly.
4. it’ll prolly be around 35 people. i’ll tell people to let me know if they wanna invite somebody else. and all of these people and i wont be drinking, so thats not a problem. what do you think?
6. also, is it like, inappropriate or cheap to ask them to like, bring 5 bucks with them? just because its not my bday so they’re not giving me anything, and ill be paying a lot for this. my friends say this is a fine idea, because im pretty close with all of these kids.
let me know what you think please!
also, any tips for entertaining everybody if they get bored would be appreciated! im thinking of just opening the patio and the hottub, and having the big screen on and video games in another room. we’re between the ages of 16-18.

The worst part of hosting any party is the clean up. If you have canned or bottled drinks the person getting another drink has to turn in their empty. Believe me it makes a HUGE difference in the end.
Finger foods are the best. Chips, dips, pretzels, ranch and veggies etc. I wouldn’t get too complicated. I’d go to Sam’s club and get a premade platter just to save time. Get a couple of trash cans and fill them with ice to put the sodas on. Make sure everything is disposable.
Go to the dollar store and buy table clothes and drape any flat surface that ANYONE can put a sweaty drink on. It’s easier to remove and disgard them at the end of the night rather than having to endust every surface to remove the evidence ![]()
A cover is a good idea as you mentioned you invited 35 which means 50 will come. You need to have a back up plan in case you have to hire a carpet cleaner or something has to be replaced.
When I was in HS I had parties all the time because my dad was always away on business or dates overnights. I charged 20 bucks and believe me no body minded paying because my house was THE place to be on the weekend. I always made enough money to have the place cleaned and keep my dirty deeds a secret.
Have fun and be safe.

WANT TO HAVE FUN AT A PARTY? PREPARE THIS RECIPE! COMPLETELY EDIBLE,
BUT YOUR FRIENDS MAY NOT THINK SO!
On a recent visit to our veterinarian to get shots for our cat I found this recipe on the waiting room bulletin board. After recovering from hysterical laughter, I obtained a copy from the office staff so that my wife could make it, which she refused to do. I took it to work and gave the recipe to a lady at work who loves cats. The pictures below show the results of her work. It doesn’t look very nice, but it’s actually quite tasty, so I decided to pass it along.
CAKE INGREDIENTS:
1 box spice or German chocolate cake mix
1 box of white cake mix
1 packag e white sandwich cookies
1 large package vanilla instant pudding mix
A few drops green food coloring
12 small Tootsie Rolls or equivalent
SERVING “DISHES AND UTENSILS”
1 NEW cat-litter box
1 NEW cat-litter box liner
1 NEW pooper scooper
1) Prepare and bake cake mixes, according t o directions, in any size pan. Prepare pudding and chill. Crumble cookies in small batches in blender or food processor. Add a few drops of green food coloring to 1 cup of cookie crumbs. Mix with a fork or shake in a jar. Set aside.
2) When cakes are at room temperature, crumble them into a large bowl. Toss with half of the remaining cookie crumbs and enough pudding to make the mixture moist but not soggy. Place liner in litter box and pour in mixture.

What Sort of Party Supplies and Halloween Decorations Should You Use for Your Party?
What Sort of Party Supplies and Halloween Decorations Should You Use for Your Party?
Halloween is a fun and adventurous time of year and what better way to celebrate it than planning a party? So where should we begin? More than any other aspects of the party, Halloween decorations and party supplies make the themed party pop. You will have to consider what sort of party you are planning and what guests will attend before you start however. Party supplies for each of these groups would consist of disposable plates, silverware, napkins and themed gift bags for any goodies you might want to pass out. Costume parties can work for each of these groups as well.
Small Children: For small children you will want to keep spooky party supplies to a minimum and stick to lighter fair with a cute tone. This means Halloween decorations that have been softened from their normally ghoulish tone to better suit the more delicate demeanor of smaller children. You can use jack-o-lanterns, ghosts, spiders, and witches as long as they seem friendly. This is also the right kind of party for themed cakes, snacks and punch that is easily managed. You may want to gather together a few adults and have the children go around the room getting different treats from each person, giving them a controlled trick or treat. Encourage the children to wear costumes and you could also have a little costume contest with prizes if there are enough children.
Older Children and Family Parties: For a group that contains children age 10 up to about 12 or 13 you can use more spooky party supplies. You’ll want to find a theme somewhere between that of the younger children and the teens. Kids this age like a good scare as long as it’s not too extreme so you could have a few spooky Halloween decorations along with games and a haunted house. Kids this age would also be interested in themed foods but might be more inclined to items that are a bit more gruesome or gooey. Serving chocolate pudding with gummy worms mixed in or sponge cakes with raspberry filling (dressing the cakes up as if they are bugs could add to the fun) might appeal.
Adults and Teens: For adults and teens your Halloween decorations could be subtle like crepe paper and banners or it could be much more grown up items like gruesome body parts or flirty ghouls. This is the party that can involve music, dancing, liquor (for the grown-ups) and bigger scares. Teens can be a hard bunch to work with, they’re often a bit fussy about being too kiddy so offering them a chance to help do the planning is your best bet. Party supplies can include some good music, horror films, snacks and pizza if they’d rather have a smaller more relaxed affair. For adults the party can go as big as you’d like, offering simple fair like chips, hors de oeuvres and sweets for the guests to nibble on over the course of the night. Halloween decorations can be scattered around the house and the outside, offering a fun evening to all.
The halloween decoration you choose can make or break your Halloween party. Getting all your party supplies and decorations ahead of time will ensure you have a “Boo-tiful” time.
